'World On Fire'

Directed by Adam Smith, and starring Oscar winning actress Helen Hunt, World On Fire' is an upcoming seven-part World War II drama for BBC 1. Telling the story of the first year of the Second World War, World on Fire will explore the impact of the conflict on ordinary people from Britain, Poland, France, Germany and the United States. Major Tom will oversee music supervision across the series. 

'Apostasy Nominated For Six BIFA Awards'

'Apostasy', Daniel Kokotajilo's debut feature film about a faithful Jehovah's Witness who is forced to shun her own sister because of a religious transgression, is nominated for six British Independent Film Awards (BIFA). Music supervision by Major Tom. 

'The Dublin Murders'

'The Dubin Murders' is a forthcoming eight-part series for BBC based on the work of Dublin's leading crime novelist, Tana French, and drawn from French's first two novels 'In The Woods' and 'The Likeness'. Major Tom will handle music supervision across the series. 

A Portrait Of: Angèle David-Guillou - Village Green

Village Green musician and composer Angèle David-Guillou guides us through the themes that influenced the writing of her dynamic and evocative second album, 'En Movement'. The short film is the fourth episode in the 'A Portrait Of Series', where Village Green explores the story behind the composition. 

En Movement is available via the new Village Green web store as well her latest release 'Mouvements Organiques'.

A Portrait Of: John Matthias & Jay Auborn - Village Green

Village Green duo John Matthias & Jay Auborn released their full length LP ‘Race To Zero’ last year. The album began as a series of acoustic improvisations recorded in a variety of locations, from a 700 year old chapel to a basement studio in Reykjavik, Iceland. Featuring cinematic shots of these spaces, the latest edition of Village Green's ‘A Portrait Of’ explores the process of creating the album whilst looking into how recording in different environments can inform the music.

A Portrait Of Jim Copperthwaite - Village Green

"Jim Copperthwaite’s debut album ‘Ballroom Ghosts’ is a collection of pieces inspired by imagined melodies trapped in the beautiful ruins and decaying remnants of historic ballrooms." Major Tom’s sister label, Village Green brings you ‘A Portrait Of’, a series of beautifully shot short films exploring the themes, techniques and inspiration behind the label’s releases. Filmed at his home and farm in Somerset, the first edition looks into Jim Copperthwaite’s thought process whilst creating ‘Ballroom Ghosts’.

'Hereditary' - Official Trailer

A Major Tom original composition soundtracks the latest trailer for Ari Aster's nightmarish forthcoming feature 'Hereditary'. Shot in Utah, the ghoulish full length feature premiered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and stars Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense), Alex Wolff (Jumanji) and Gabriel Byrne (The Usual Suspects). Writer and director Ari Aster explores the story of the Graham family. After the passing of Ellen - the family's matriarch, the Grahams begin to uncover the cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry.

Leading composer, orchestrator and conductor, Matt Dunkley released the brilliant ‘Cycles 7-16’ back in January via our sister label Village Green. In the latest edition of ‘A Portrait Of’, Village Green explores the process behind ‘Cycles 7-16’. Featuring interviews with Matt and engineer Geoff Foster, the film looks into the inspiration behind the project by dramatic shots of the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg.

Matt Dunkley Scores 'Tomorrow Today' 

Village Green Recording artist and Major Tom composer Matt Dunkley has provided a dark, psychological and brooding orchestral score to 'Tomorrow, Today', a powerful short film which explores war, ghosts, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The film is directed by award winning commercials and music video director Chris Hewitt. Release date TBA.

'Journey's End' to receive Gala Screening at the London Film Festival.

Saul Dibb's acclaimed film of R.C. Sherriff's seminal First World War stage play 'Journey's End' starring Asa Butterfield, Sam Claflin and Paul Bettany is to receive a red carpet Gala screening at the 2017 London Film Festival in October. Major Tom handled Music Supervision on the project overseeing and producing the entire film score.

'Beatriz at Dinner' Trailer

Major Tom composer and Village Green recording artist Thomas William Hill has provided the soundtrack to the trailer to forthcoming US indie feature 'Beatriz At Dinner' starring Salma Hayek, John Lighgow and Chloe Sevigny. The film is hilarious yet thoroughly uncomfortable story about a Los Angeles based Massage Therapist whose car breaks down at a wealthy clients home and finds herself invited to dinner and in the excruciating company of a ruthless and unscrupulous real estate mogul.

NW Nominated for two BAFTA Awards

The BBC Two and Mammoth Screen adaptation of Zadie Smith’s 2012 novel 'NW', which Major Tom provided music supervision on has received two nominations in the 2017 BAFTA British Academy Television Awards, announced today. The 90 minute drama, which aired in November 2016, received a Leading Actress nomination for Nikki Amuka-Bird and a nomination for best Single Drama. The winners will be announced on 14 May at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

Journey's End 

Major Tom will handle music supervision on a forthcoming film adaptation of R.C. Sheriff’s seminal play ‘Journey’s End’. Directed by Saul Dibb (The Duchess) the film stars Sam Claffin (The Hunger Games), Asa Butterfield (Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children), Stephen Graham (This is England), Paul Bettany (A Beautiful Mind) and Toby Jones (The Girl).

'A Street Cat Named Bob' Soundtrack Announced

Major Tom have collaborated with Sony Music Masterworks to produce a soundtrack release to 'A Street Cat Named Bob'. The soundtrack features six original songs written by Charlie Fink (Noah and the Whale) and sung by the main actor, Luke Treadaway alongside music scored by Oscar nominee David Hirschfelder.

Dead Light 'Sleeper' Video

Village Green recording artists Dead Light have collaborated with Berlin based visual artist Susie Sie to create a mesmerising promo film for their track 'Sleeper'. The film-maker who creates textural microscopic film studies of natural forms has created an entrancing marble-like moving painting which once coupled with Dead Light's ethereal, haunting ambience provides an enthralling visual accompaniment to their beautiful music.

'Captive' delves into the tense, dangerous world of hostage negotiation. Victims, negotiators, and kidnappers give an unprecedented look at what it means to be captive.

'The Man With The Iron Heart'

'The Man With the Iron Heart' is a forthcoming feature length second world war drama based on the acclaimed book 'HHhH' by Laurent Binet and directed by Cedric Jimenez (The Connection). The film focuses on Operation Anthropoid, the assassination of Nazi leader Reinhard Heydrich and stars Jason Clarke, Rosamund Pike, Jack O'Connell, Jack Reynor and Mia Masikowska. Major Tom will handle music supervision across the film.

Matt Dunkley At The Royal Ballet

'Cycle 2' from Matt's debut album features in a new performance at The Royal Ballet by young choreographer Charlotte Edmonds who was previously mentored by Wayne McGregor. Also featuring tracks by Dustin O'Halloran and Julia Kent. From 10th-19th November 2016. 

Ben Chatwin Scores snowboarding epic 'The Fourth Phase'

Village Green recording artist Ben Chatwin has provided a stunning original score to Red Bull Media House snowboarding epic 'The Fourth Phase'. Inspired by the hydrological cycle, iconic snowboarder Travis Rice and his team embark on a 16,000 mile (26,000km) journey to some of the most dreamlike landscapes around the North Pacific, discovering more than new terrain.
